A Central Florida hardscape company built on doing the work right
Ocoee Concrete & Pavers was founded in 2020 by Luan with a simple operating principle: build every Central Florida driveway, patio and pool deck like it’s going to outlast the house it’s attached to.
That sounds obvious, but the Central Florida hardscape market is full of contractors who quote 20% cheaper, skip the geotextile fabric, under-compact the base, and disappear when the pavers start settling 18 months later. Those contractors are still in business because most homeowners don’t know what to look for during the estimate — they see the finished surface, not the 6 inches of properly compacted limerock underneath.
We started this company to take the opposite approach: do every job with the documented 38-point installation process whether the customer asks for it or not, issue a written 2-year workmanship warranty whether the law requires it or not, and stand behind the work in years 3–5 (at cost, no markup) when most contractors are unreachable.
Six years later, we’ve installed hundreds of paver driveways, concrete patios, pool decks, walkways and stamped concrete projects across the 12 cities we serve — Ocoee, Winter Garden, Orlando, Kissimmee, Windermere, Apopka, Clermont, Davenport, Lake Nona, Dr. Phillips, Four Corners and Celebration. Our same-crew team and 7-day work week let us run a tight schedule and keep projects on track.
What we believe about Central Florida hardscape
Base preparation is the whole game
Florida’s clay-sand soils, high water table, and freeze-thaw stress on the rare cold morning make base prep the single most important variable in any concrete or paver installation. We excavate to 8 inches on residential driveways (10 inches on commercial), install woven geotextile fabric over the subgrade, and compact 2-inch lifts of crushed limerock to 95% Standard Proctor density. The 6 inches under your pavers is what makes the surface last 30+ years.
Materials matter, but installation matters more
We work primarily with Belgard and Tremron pavers because both are Florida-manufactured (less transport cost, fresher product, and Florida-specific color formulations) and both back their product with lifetime structural warranties. But honest truth: a perfectly installed budget paver from a regional brand will outlast a poorly installed premium paver from the best brand. The installation is the durability driver.
The contractor you can reach in year 3 is the one that matters
Most paver and concrete issues show up in years 3–5, not year 1. By then, the cheaper contractors are gone — either out of business, working under a new LLC, or simply not returning calls from old customers. We treat our customer list as a long-term asset and respond to service calls at our cost in years 3–5 specifically to keep that relationship strong.
Transparent pricing wins
Every estimate we send is written, itemized, and includes permit fees, demolition costs, materials, labor, and the specific paver brand and color. We don’t do verbal estimates over the phone, we don’t do “ballparks” that turn into 30% upcharges, and we don’t do the trick where two crew members show up and discover unexpected problems halfway through. The estimate you sign is the price you pay.
Who we work with
Homeowners
The majority of our work is residential driveway replacement, new paver patios for outdoor living, pool deck installation (often during pool resurfacing projects), and stamped concrete decorative work. Most projects run $5,000–$22,000 in scope.
Builders and remodelers
We subcontract on new construction and major remodel projects across Central Florida. Builders work with us because we hit dates, communicate proactively, and protect adjacent finished work during installation. If you’re building or flipping in our service area and need a hardscape sub, contact [email protected].
Property managers and short-term rental operators
The vacation rental belt between Davenport, ChampionsGate, Reunion, Solara, Solterra and Celebration generates a steady volume of driveway and pool deck work that has to fit between guest stays. We schedule tight 3–5 day completion windows for STR owners and coordinate directly with property managers.
Light commercial
Small-to-mid commercial projects: parking lot patching and expansion, ADA-compliant sidewalk and ramp work, equipment slabs, dumpster pads, and similar. Sealed bids on request through our contact form.
