When resurfacing makes sense
Concrete resurfacing is the right choice when your existing concrete is structurally sound (no major settlement, no through-cracks wider than 1/4 inch, no major heaving) but visually worn — surface spalling, faded color, dated finish, or general appearance you want to refresh.
We apply a polymer-modified cement overlay (3/8 to 1/2 inch thick) over the existing concrete after thorough prep. The overlay can be smooth, stamped, or stenciled in a wide range of colors and patterns.
Resurfacing options
Plain overlay (broom or smooth): $4–$8 per sq ft. Stamped decorative overlay (looks like flagstone, slate or pavers): $9–$14 per sq ft. Stenciled pattern overlay: $7–$12 per sq ft. Spray-knockdown texture: $5–$9 per sq ft.
How resurfacing compares to replacement
Full replacement runs $10–$15 per sq ft for plain concrete or $14–$22 per sq ft for stamped/decorative. Resurfacing typically runs 40–60% of replacement cost — and finishes in 2–5 days vs 2 weeks for full replacement.
