The five most common stucco repairs in Central Florida
Stucco repair work in Central Florida typically falls into five categories, each with different prep, materials, and pricing. Knowing which category your damage fits helps you understand the estimate before we arrive on-site.
1. Hairline cracks
Hairline cracks (under 1/16 inch wide) are usually cosmetic, caused by normal cement shrinkage during initial cure. We fill with elastomeric stucco patch compound, texture-match the surface, and color-match. Typical cost: $200–$500 minimum service.
2. Settlement cracks
Larger cracks (1/16 inch to 1/4 inch) usually follow a path that suggests minor foundation settlement or wall movement. We chase the crack, fill with structural patch, install a flexible bond breaker, and resurface. $400–$1,200.
3. Impact damage
Holes from doorknobs, lawn equipment, or accidents. We cut out damaged stucco back to sound material, install replacement lath, apply 3-coat stucco patch, texture-match and color-match. $300–$900.
4. Moisture damage / efflorescence
White powdery residue or soft spots indicate moisture intrusion. We cut out affected area, fix the moisture source (often flashing or weep screed issue), then re-stucco. $600–$3,000 depending on extent.
5. Full wall re-coat
When a wall has accumulated dozens of cracks or color has degraded across the whole surface, full wall re-coat is more cost-effective than spot repairs. $4–$8 per sq ft of wall.
